This absolutely amazing Victorian compote it’s made of alabaster and it is stunning! Unfortunately in it’s past it has met some falls and has been repaired over the years. The base and the top both have cracks that have been repaired. You can see clearly the repairs upon close viewing. The repairs were done well so it’s a stable piece. Personally, I don’t feel that any of the repairs distract from its beauty.
items such as these that have condition issues just speak to a story and how it has survived 100 years or more. This amazing piece is 17 1/2 inches tall and 16 1/2 inches wide at the top.
