This antique book is dated to the 1860s and is entitled men of history. There are many famous men depicted in this book from the kings and conquerors of Mohammed, Julius Caesar, Lord Clive, Washington, and Napoleon. To poets such as Homer, Dante, Shakespeare and Milton. There are statesman and philosophers and men of science listed, such as Hastings and Socrates. A Fabulous book with a beautiful binding. There are some lovely illustrations within the book as well.
The cover is blue leather, and blue and black deckled paper. The spine is in good condition and the cover shows ware. Some water damage at the very edge of the book, but does not extend to the interior of the book. It’s in really good shape for being more than 100 years old. The book is small about 4 x 6, and about 2 1/2 inches thick.
